About the Therapist
Dear friends, even if we haven’t yet met,
How are you feeling today? Are you smiling as you contemplate the answer to this seemingly simple question, or is there something that may be hindering your marvelous self from shining through and showing the world your full potential? My name is Jen, and I practice massage therapy and positive touch with the intent to improve the activities of daily life, one step at a time. I would love to work together with you to make every day feel like the best day you’ve ever had.
I am a graduate of Barnard College of Columbia University and the Swedish Institute, the oldest massage therapy program in the country. I’m a Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of New York. I’m also a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. My training doesn’t stop here; I am always studying to keep up with the ever-advancing fields of health care and wellness. I have always held a strong interest in the human body, and especially the childbearing cycle. I have advanced training and certification in Prenatal and Postpartum massage techniques.
Growing up, I learned the benefits of massage when I was treated for shin splints by a massage therapist, whose work allowed me to continue playing basketball. Pain can stop us from enjoying some of our favorite activities, which can take the joy out of life. I was called to massage therapy because I wanted to help people get more enjoyment out of life and their bodies by lessening pain, stress, and tension.
Everyone feels pain at some point. Whether you find it painful to play your favorite sport or instrument, if pain makes it harder to work or perform vital daily tasks, or if you just need a break from a hectic week, month, or year, massage can help. I believe very strongly in the work that I do, having experienced its benefits firsthand, and I would love to show you how massage can improve your life.
